Graduation Ceremony

Class of 2021

Monday, May 17, 2021 | 7:30 pm | Amway Arena

Due to CDC guidelines for social distancing, the graduating class of 2021 Graduation Ceremony will be split into two graduation groups:

Graduates with last names A – L will be in Group 1

Graduates with last names M – Z will be in Group 2

Two abbreviated, 45 minute back to back ceremonies will take place. All graduates, regardless of what group they are in must arrive at the first floor of the Geico parking garage (directly across from Amway) no later than 6:15 pm so we have plenty of time to stage/set up for both ceremonies. Please do not arrive any later than 6:15 pm!! All guests, regardless of what group their graduate is in, should plan to be in their designated seats by the 7:15 pm start time (doors open at 6:30 pm)

After the first ceremony has ended, parents and guests of graduates in Group 1 are welcome to exit the arena and meet their Group 1 graduate at the entrance of the arena. Guests may stay for the second ceremony however once you leave the arena, there is no reentry. The entire FHS graduation (both ceremonies combined is expected to last no longer than two hours. Please note that there could be a slight variation in the alpha groups due to balancing group numbers on the night of.

Masks are required for all graduates and guests. Graduates will receive a special mask during check in. Graduates please note that you must wear your cap and gown the way it comes. No alterations, or additions including words or phrases may be added to your cap and gown. This includes NO CAP DECORATING.

Each graduate participating the in the ceremony will receive 4 tickets that will be located in socially distanced pods around the arena. Families must sit in their designated pod assignment. Mixing different families in pods is not allowed. Please note that all obligations must be cleared in order to receive tickets. Here are the ticket distribution dates and times:

Wednesday, May 12

  • Alpha
    • 7:45 AM – 9:45 AM, Last Name: A-F
    • 11:45 AM – 12:45 PM, Last Name: G-I
    • 1:45 PM – 3:45 PM, Last Name: J-N

Friday, May 14

  • Alpha
    • 7:45 AM – 10:45 AM, Last Name: O-U
    • 12:45 PM – 1:45 PM, Last Name: V-W
    • 2:45 PM – 3:45 PM, Last Name: X-Z

Saturday, May 15

  • Make-Up Day
    • 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM
    • 12:30 PM – 3:00 PM

In addition to their tickets, each graduate will receive an official Class of 2021 Commencement Program with the commencement livestream and digital program QR codes on them.

Cap & Gown
If you have not ordered/purchased a cap and gown, the best option at this point is to bring $75 cash only with you when you arrive at Amway for graduation on May 17. Arrive a little earlier and Jostens will sell you a cap and gown right then and there on site. The Jostens website will continue to be open if you want to order online at or you can also order over the phone at 407-894-3131.

Please wear business professional attire including dress shoes under your cap and gown at the ceremony. I am going to stress once again CAPS CANNOT BE DECORATED nor can any words or phrases be on any part of the cap and gown. Graduates will have their attire checked at the site. Graduation is a dignified, prestigious occasion and we expect our graduates to act and dress accordingly.

Graduation Day Quick Facts

  • Graduates and parents may park in the Geico garage for free on floors 2 – 8.
  • Graduates must report to the first floor of the Geico garage no later than 6:15 pm.
  • Parents and guests should be in their seats no later than 7:15 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm)
  • No bags over 4.5/6.5 inches will be allowed in the Amway Arena.
  • No items that make noise of any kind including bullhorns will be allowed in the Amway Arena.
  • Once again, NO CAP DECORATING (or gown decorating)
  • The graduation ceremony will be livestreamed on YouTube.

  • All graduates will receive a special FHS grad mask they must/will wear during the ceremony.
  • All safety guidelines and protocols are being used in conjunction with the Florida Department of Health in Orange County and the Amway Center.
