The Patriot Report

Freedom High School Newsletter #27

May 31, 2026
Dear Freedom High School Community,

As we close out an incredible school year, I am filled with pride reflecting on all that our students, staff, and community have accomplished. From academic achievements and award-winning programs to outstanding performances, athletic successes, and meaningful service, this year has truly showcased the excellence and spirit of Freedom High School.
Our students have demonstrated resilience, growth, and determination, while our dedicated teachers and staff have gone above and beyond to support and inspire them every step of the way. Together, we have celebrated milestones, created lasting memories, and strengthened the culture that makes Freedom such a special place.
As we look ahead, I am excited for what the 2026–2027 school year will bring. I am confident that we will continue to build on this momentum and reach even greater heights together.
Thank you for being an essential part of our Patriot family. Have a safe and restful summer—we look forward to welcoming everyone back in August, ready for another amazing year.
Once a Patriot, always a Patriot!

Stay Sharp This Summer, Patriots!

As you enjoy your well-deserved break, remember to keep your minds active by reading throughout the summer. Regular reading helps strengthen comprehension, expand vocabulary, and sets you up for greater success in all subject areas next school year.
We also encourage all students to continue practicing on Khan Academy to stay on track academically. Consistent practice sharpens skills, builds confidence, and helps you stay prepared for upcoming assessments. This is especially important for students preparing for the PSAT (grades 9–11) and SAT (seniors) in October. A little practice each week can make a big difference—come back in August ready to succeed!

AICE Marine Science: Turning Trash into Treasure

Students in Ms. McClish’s AICE Marine Science class showcased both creativity and environmental awareness through a unique project—designing recycled art coral reefs. Over the past three weeks, students transformed everyday waste into stunning reef displays, highlighting the impact of ocean pollution. These eye-catching creations are now on display around the front office aquarium, where teachers are invited to vote for their favorite reef. This project not only brought art and science together but also promoted an important message about protecting our oceans.

Freedom Theatre Shines at the Applause Awards

Ms. Probst, Mr. Desmond, and Mr. Nash-Brown proudly represented Freedom High School at the Applause Awards held at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, where our production of Descendants earned multiple recognitions. Three of our talented students also took the stage as part of the performance, delivering a truly outstanding showcase of their skills.
In exciting news announced that evening, Freedom Theatre was honored with the Overall Technical Achievement Award—a distinction awarded to only 3 schools out of 63 productions. We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment and thrilled to share this well-deserved recognition with our Patriot community! 🎭
