The Patriot Report

Freedom High School Newsletter #17

March 21, 2026
Dear Patriot Family,

Every day, our students remind us what Honor, Excellence, and Tradition truly look like at Freedom High School. I am incredibly proud of the way our Patriots continue to shine, both in the classroom and through the arts.
This month, our talented Patriot artist students represented us beautifully at the Winter Park Arts Festival, one of the nation's most respected showcases. Our Patriot Band marched with skill and pride in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New York City, performing on one of the world’s largest stages. And our dedicated theatre students earned Superior, Excellent, and Top Honor recognitions at the Florida State Thespian Festival in Tampa. Their achievements reflect the dedication, creativity, and passion that define our school community.
I was also deeply touched, watching students build new friendships, discover new hobbies, and learn new skills during our final Freedom Fest of the year. These moments of connection and joy embody the spirit of what it means to be a Patriot.
As we move into the final stretch of the school year, I encourage all students to stay focused on our academic expectations. Being present, staying engaged, and preparing for upcoming assessments will ensure a strong finish as we begin our last quarter of the 2025-2026 school year.
Thank you, Patriots, for the pride you bring to Freedom High School every single day. Let’s finish the year with purpose and excellence.

Proud to be your principal,

Charles M. France

🍀 Freedom High School Band Shines in the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate our Freedom High School Band for their outstanding performance in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New York City! This historic parade, recognized as the world’s largest, with over 150,000 marchers and a tradition dating back to 1762, is an honor reserved for the very best. This year, our Patriots had the privilege of representing Freedom on one of the biggest stages in the nation.
Our talented students marched with pride, energy, and professionalism, showcasing their hard work and dedication in front of millions of spectators. Their performance not only highlighted their musical excellence but also demonstrated what Patriot Pride truly looks like.
Please join us in congratulating our band students, directors, and chaperones for an unforgettable experience and for representing Freedom High School with distinction on the world stage!

🎨 Patriot Artists Shine at the Winter Park Arts Festival

We are proud to recognize the incredible talent and dedication of the young artists from Ms. Watson’s Painting class and Mr. Whittaker’s Drawing class, who represented Freedom High School at this year’s Winter Park Arts Festival.
As one of the nation’s largest, oldest, and most prestigious outdoor art shows, the Winter Park Arts Festival has been a celebrated tradition since 1960, attracting top artists and thousands of visitors each year. Our Patriots, from 9th to 12th grade, rose to the occasion, showcasing their creativity, skill, and passion with a total of 50 pieces.
Their artwork stood out beautifully and reflected the strength of our visual arts program. We are so proud of their accomplishment and grateful for the guidance and inspiration provided by their teachers.
Congratulations to our talented young artists! You represented Freedom with excellence and artistry! 🎨💙❤️

In addition to the group performance, many of our thespians participated in individual events, earning Excellent, Superior, and even Top Honor awards, a true testament to their dedication and passion for the performing arts.
And the excitement doesn’t end there! Don’t miss the opportunity to see this incredible group of cast and crew take the stage again as they bring Disney’s Descendants to life next month in our PAC.
