Dear Patriot Family,
I couldn’t be prouder of all that is happening across our campus! This past week has been a true reflection of what makes Freedom High School exceptional: our students, staff, and community working together to create a vibrant, supportive environment.
Our students showed incredible school spirit during College Week, celebrating their future aspirations with creativity and enthusiasm. Activities like the “Where’s Waldo?” challenge brought laughter and connection, reminding us of the importance of belonging. On World Kindness Day, our Patriots demonstrated compassion through heartfelt messages and inspiring art displays, proof that kindness truly starts here.
We also took time to honor our staff veterans, whose service and dedication inspire us every day. And let’s not forget the amazing accomplishments of our athletes. Congratulations to Ava and Katie for representing Freedom at the state swimming competition!
All of this while maintaining the rigor and excellence in our classrooms that prepare students for success beyond high school. These moments show that at Freedom High School, we are more than a school. We are a family committed to growth, achievement, and community.
Thank you for your continued support in making Freedom a place where every Patriot can thrive!
With Patriot Pride,
Charles M. France
Principal, Freedom High School

Academic Excellence: Where Patriots Achieve |
Using their knowledge of rhetorical appeals, ethos, pathos, and logos, students worked in teams to solve a series of riddles and clues. Each puzzle required them to analyze persuasive techniques and even dive into historical examples to unlock the next stage. Collaboration was key as they eagerly connected their understanding of rhetoric to escape successfully. This engaging activity combined critical thinking, teamwork, and a fun twist on learning!

They’ve been working tirelessly to finalize college applications and polish essays as they race toward critical deadlines before the semester ends. Their commitment and hard work are opening doors to incredible opportunities ahead!
But it’s not all about applications—these seniors know how to celebrate their journey. During College Week, they proudly joined in the spirit day fun, dressing up as medical professionals and showing off their future aspirations with creativity and enthusiasm.
What our AVID seniors have accomplished so far:
- Peer-edited Scholarship Essays
- Calculated College GPAs
- Submitted Scholarship Applications
- Already earned acceptances to LSU, Nova Southeastern (x2), Penn State, FIT, and Palm Beach Atlantic
- Secured over $300,000 in scholarships from AVID senior classes alone!
Our Patriots are proving that hard work pays off, and their future is looking brighter every day!
Parents and seniors, a quick reminder: Please make sure the first two parts of Xello are complete. This important step keeps everyone on track for graduation and post-secondary success.

Last Wednesday, our campus was buzzing with creativity and collaboration during the Compass Workshop! Students from all grade levels came together to build catapults, sculpt clay animals, debate exciting topics, play interactive games, and even learn about organ transplants. Every activity was thoughtfully planned and led by our incredible Compass student senators, showcasing leadership and teamwork at its best. This hands-on experience gave students a chance to explore new ideas, connect with peers, and have fun while learning!

United as Patriots: Celebrating Spirit, Building Connections!

College Week was a huge success! Each college or organization hosted a table in the courtyard during lunch, giving students the chance to explore a variety of educational and professional opportunities. We invited additional programs and connected with several new partners thanks to student recommendations.
Our College & Career team, led by Ms. Dotson, featured engaging topics and activities at their table each day, and students enjoyed participating for a chance to win small prizes.
Friday was all about celebrating our seniors who completed FAFSA and college applications. Thanks to our Partners in Ed, students received coupons, and we even had food donations to make the day special.
Students also loved SGA & AVID BINGO! Mrs. Brown shared details about the game, which sparked meaningful college and career conversations in classrooms between students and adults.
Thank you to everyone who helped finalize the details and make this week an unforgettable celebration of Patriot pride and future planning!

On World Kindness Day, our Patriot courtyard came alive with creativity and compassion! During A and B lunch, students had the opportunity to write uplifting quotes and heartfelt messages to spread kindness throughout our school community. Alongside these inspiring words, a beautiful art display showcased student-created pieces illustrating how kindness can be expressed through art. This event reminded us that even small acts of kindness can make a big impact, and our Patriots truly embraced the spirit of the day!

On Veterans Day, our students came together to show appreciation for the incredible staff members who have served our country. They shared heartfelt messages of gratitude and provided a special lunch to honor their dedication and sacrifice. This meaningful gesture reminded us of the importance of service and community—and how proud we are to have these heroes as part of our Patriot family! Thanks for your service, Mr. Kline, Mrs. Kline, Dr. Miller, Coach Moore, Mr. Sigrist, Mr. Noggle, Mr. Diaz, and Sergeant Major Johnson.

Preparing with Patriot Pride: Your Guide to Upcoming Testing |
Attention 9th and 10th grade families: On Tuesday, December 2, students will take the Progress Monitoring 2 (PM2) FAST ELA assessment. This important checkpoint helps students and teachers understand learning growth and identify areas where additional support is needed before the final FAST in May.
How parents can help:
- Encourage students to practice reading and complete tasks provided by their English teachers.
- Support daily reading and vocabulary practice using Khan Academy to strengthen skills.
Testing locations will be shared via email by your student’s English teacher and Ms. Tarantino. For any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with your student’s English teacher directly.
Let’s work together to help our Patriots succeed!

Patriot Standards: Promoting Respect, Responsibility & Readiness |
Consistent, on-time attendance is the single most important factor in your student's academic achievement. Every day at school offers crucial learning and social opportunities that cannot be fully replicated, and missing even a few days can significantly impact progress. We ask all families to prioritize regular attendance to ensure your student is present and engaged. Please familiarize yourself with our Attendance Policy for guidelines regarding excused absences and tardiness. Your partnership in making every school day count is key to a successful year!
|
Patriots, let’s keep our learning environment strong! Please remember:
-
Be inside your classroom by the bell—every minute counts!
-
Follow Freedom High School’s dress code policy to represent our school with pride.
-
No electronic devices during the school day—this includes phones, earbuds, tablets, or personal laptops.
-
Focus on learning and make the most of every opportunity to grow!
Together, we can create a positive and distraction-free environment for success!

Last Wednesday, our Patriot staff and students enjoyed a playful challenge with a campus-wide “Where’s Waldo?” hunt! Students picked up bingo sheets from Guidance and searched for Waldos hidden around campus during the day. Each Waldo had a bingo paper, adding an extra layer of fun to the activity. This creative event brought smiles, laughter, and a sense of community as everyone joined in the excitement. A big thank you to Ms. Gargano and Mr. Read, and all of our staff, for making this day memorable for our Patriots!
